Lupillo Rivera, a Mexican-American singer, was born in La Barca, Jalisco, Mexico, on January 30, 1972. His father Pedro Rivera ran a record company and studio, while his uncle El Toro Rivera was a well-known fighter in Mexico.
In Long Beach, California, Lupillo was reared with his sister Jenni Rivera. After graduating from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in 1990, he pursued a musical career, which helped him achieve success as a regional vocalist in Mexico starting in 1992.
