Jokowi's presence in the war-stricken country is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, which aims to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia.

"The mission is to urge Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to open the possibility of holding a peace dialogue, as the war has to be stopped, and this is also related to the food supply chain that must be activated again," said the President according to the Cabinet Secretary website.

After leaving Ukraine, the President is scheduled to continue his overseas state visit to Russia in hopes to meet President Vladimir Putin.

"From Ukraine, I will head to Russia to meet President Vladimir Putin. Once again, with the same mission, I will invite President Putin to open a space for dialogue and as soon as possible to carry out a ceasefire and stop the war," Jokowi insisted.
